HOW TO ESTIMATE POUCH LENGTH

First - Calculate the Unusable Chevron Space (UCS).

Calculate the unusable chevron space by multiplying the Pouch's Inside Dimension (PID) by 0.268 (0.268 is based on a standard chevron angle of 15°, 0.268 is the tangent of 15°).

Second - Determine the Estimated Pouch Length (EPL)

Add the following to the UCS:

• Tip of Chevron (TC) Standard is 5/8" or 0.625" or 1.588 cm
• Seal Width (SW) Standard is 3/8" or 0.375" or .953 cm
• Length of Product to be Packaged (LP)
• Additional Length for sealing - Standard is 2" or 5.08 cm (may be more or less depending on the profile of the product to be packaged.)

UCS + TC + SW + LP + 2" or 5.08 cm = EPL

For a Standard Pouch : UCS + LP + 3" or 7.62 cm= EPL

For a Dispos-A-Vent™ Pouch: EPL x 1.25
