Carl D. Marotta, President TOLAS Health Care Packaging; Feasterville, PA, Awarded Small Business Achievement Award

UNIVEST ANNOUNCES SMALL BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Souderton, PA---Univest Corporation presented Carl D. Marotta, President, TOLAS Health Care Packaging Corp. of Feasterville, PA with the second annual Univest Small Business Achievement Award. "This award has been established to recognize small businesses in our community for outstanding achievement in areas such as growth, expansion, community involvement, sales and more," said William S. Aichele, president and chief executive officer of Univest. "TOLAS Health Care Packaging Corp. is an outstanding small business that has demonstrated success for more than fifteen years. Tolas has created a global market by developing and providing supplies, packaging and adhesive materials for the health care and other high technology markets."
The Univest Small Business Achievement Award was modeled after the annual award of the Philadelphia District Office of the Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBA award pays tribute to a regional small business nominated by SBA lending institutions.

The U.S. Small Business Administration was created by Congress in 1953 to support and encourage the creation and success of small business. SBA offers a wide range of financial and business assistance and disaster relief services. As an SBA "preferred lender" Univest National Bank and Trust Co., a subsidiary of Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania, is authorized to guarantee qualifying small business loans without obtaining prior SBA approval. "Created to streamline the lending process for small businesses, the Preferred Lender Program is reserved for the SBA's most active and knowledgeable lenders. It allows the SBA to use the expertise of Univest National Bank's business banking professionals by giving them full delegation of authority for loan approval, processing, servicing and liquidation actions on a unilateral basis," reported Patricia J. Kratz, Vice President in Corporate Banking. "The Preferred Lender Program places a greater reliance on SBA's lending partners who have demonstrated a commitment to small business lending, and who enjoy an excellent working relationship with local SBA offices."
Univest Corporation and its subsidiaries, Univest National Bank and Trust Co., Univest Insurance, Inc. and Univest Investments, Inc. provide community support, leadership, and strong performance in the financial services industry to over 20 Bucks and Montgomery County communities.
